A guy who just got back from Burning Man tries to explain Burning Man to a loser who’s never been to Burning Man. This short went viral on its release, largely propelled by actual Burners who felt utterly seen. Was covered by the New York Times, CNN, SFGate, and Funny or Die, and hit the front page of Reddit, for a running total of 2.1 million views.

The only sequel I’ve ever made, this is an 8-year check-in on the dusty weirdo from How Was Burning Man, as he tries to explain the miracle of fatherhood as only he can. A re-team with Bob Turton and the addition of Avi Rothman to the family, this is a documentary.

Starring Brian Huskey, Janie Haddad Tompkins, Lexi Ainsworth, Thomas Lennon, and Ian Roberts. It was also a pivotal point in my lifelong interest in multi-level marketing.

A short film about a job interview gone horribly wrong… but then even more horribly right. Another mystery of the algorithm, this short trends every few years and is approaching 1 million views. By far the most common comment the video receives is “this was shit.”

My USC undergrad thesis film, a comedy about knife salesmen in competition with each other. Though not quite my first movie, it was almost my first, and is to date the most fun I’ve had making a movie. Shot on old-timey 16mm film with a cast and crew I still call dear friends to this day.
